Abstract :
A new kind of gyrotron - coaxial gyroklinotron with a conical cavity is presented. In such gyrotron with coaxial-conical configuration of the cavity the inclination of a surface level of electromagnetic field relating to longitudinal motion of electrons is formed. As a result, at sufficiently large length of the interaction area and the optimal configuration of coaxial - conical cavity all radial layers of the electron beam crossing through the level surface are on average at the equal conditions of interaction with the cavity field. Presented in the paper results of numerical simulation and design optimization of coaxial gyroklinotron with conical cavity are the evidence of its feasibility and prospects for a substantial increase of power of short-wave gyrotrons. Average electronic efficiency of coaxial gyroklinotron with a wide electron beam reaches 22.57% at mode H04 of conical cavity.
