Abstract :
Data synchronization sensor networks ingest, store, forward, and query high volumes of sensor events. SensorConnect is an event management database system that implements an enterprise RFID supply chain IT backbone. SensorConnect was developed to be extremely responsive, scalable, and capable of handling multiple streams of high volume sensor-oriented data. This report describes a series of performance and scalability tests that were run to measure an alpha release of the SensorConnect system. These tests were designed to show ingest and query rates of the system typical of a entire supply chains. The tests were run on a single SensorConnect server and were adaptable to a new environment with minimal effort. The system demonstrated a peak ingestion rate of approximately 447,000 events per second without queries. The system exhibited comparable performance with a balanced mix of queries and ingestion events.
