Abstract
In this paper we present the first single-chip 8-channel voice codec with enhanced features for voice over packet (VoP) and high density line card applications. Sigma-delta modulators are used for A/D and D/A conversions and a RISC/DSP core is employed for processing the digitized voice signals. The mixed signal chip is implemented in TMDP 0.6 um CMOS technology. The measured results show that all performance parameters meet ITU-T Recommendations G.712 requirements
