Abstract
This paper serves to introduce the use of paired t-test to compare of readability of tag placed at two different orientations on a product. If additional factors besides orientation are required to be considered, a design of experiments (DOE) methodology is proposed. A case study on the use of DOE to obtain the optimal tag placement from different tagging possibilities that involves bending, orientation, and power supplied to tag is presented and validated. The results should encourage RFID system testers to use DOE to obtain valid statistical results as well examine the significance of main factors and its interactions for their application with minimal runs.
