Abstract :
RFID technology holds the promise of real-time identifying, locating and monitoring physical objects. Event detection is the key part of the RFID middleware. In comparison with traditional events, RFID events have the following characteristics: large volume, temporal and spatial, inaccurate etc. In this paper, a high performance hierarchical complex event detecting method is proposed to overcome the drawback of the current RFID complex event detecting methods. Based on query plan, this method uses parallel algorithm at different level to improve the performance. Traditional query language for complex event detection is extended to support hierarchical complex event detection. The experimental study shows that the new method has better performance and flexibility than traditional complex event detection methods.
