Abstract :
This work provides study and analysis of electrical interference effects of transmission lines upon nearby pipelines. The electromagnetic field coupling is a major reason of increasing the corrosion on pipeline near overhead power transmission line. The work presents physical EMF measurements on pipelines, during steady state condition. The models achieved describe the phenomenon of electrical interference in large-scale systems comprising conductors of arbitrary orientations. The types of interference between AC power transmission line and pipelines has been summarized and presented. The paper should explain important factor in order to determine the cause of corrosion initiation in a system of pipelines run parallel to over head power transmission line. The future work is concentrated on all major electrical power stations, in order to monitor/determine/reduce corrosion phenomena.
