Abstract
The design and implementation of the digital signal processing (DSP) subsystem for the analog mode (FM) of a programmable IS-54 dual-mode base station product are described. This station can process analog FM or time division multiple access (TDMA) signals by alternately executing the corresponding software on the same hardware platform. The described subsystem relies on DSP algorithms for all functions of the analog mode, including voice processing, data framing and synchronization, frequency shift keying (FSK), FM modulation and demodulation, and supervisory audio tone (SAT) generation and detection
