Abstract :
The characteristics of Xilinx´s third-generation FPGAs are described in this paper. W-CDMA based upon several forms of spread spectrum techniques was chosen as a next-generation access technology for GSM. PN generators are at the heart of every spread spectrum system. Different methods of generating PN codes are compared. In order to meet all the real-time requirements, implementing PN generation in the FPGAs is the best option. Advanced design methodology is useful for assuring a successful design. Five rulers are brought forward in using platform FPGAs in an application
