The authors investigate the image quality of holographic lenses using a ray-tracing method. Using formulae for the third order aberration for quadratic holographic lenses with shifted entrance pupil, they compare aberration spots in the case of holographic lenses recorded on sphere, ellipsoid and hyperloid
