Abstract
Resolution is the most important parameter to measure the radar images quality. In this paper, a method of improving azimuth resolution based on spectrum synthesis under line formation flying satellites SAR condition is studied, and the relationship between baseline of formation flying satellites SAR and azimuth resolution is analyzed. We obtain the relationship between baseline and synthetic aperture length. When baseline is two times of synthesis aperture length, the azimuth resolution is the best. The computer simulation results also show the correctness of the method to improve azimuth resolution for formation flying satellites SAR.
