Abstract :
Modeling and simulation of mobility patterns is an important task in studying the efficiency of different routing protocols and analyzing the ad hoc networks performance. We present a novel simulation approach that allows us to keep the mobility models simple and to model more realistic mobility scenarios at the same time by introducing graphically represented attraction maps. Using a Java-based simulation suite JSim-MANet, we demonstrate by different examples that the presented approach proves to work well in both outdoor and indoor simulation environment
