Abstract
Hypermedia is a technology to manage chunks of multimedia information by linking them together. However, hypermedia before has mainly dealt with recorded information alone, which is manually classified and gave some attributes. It could not deal with live information such as television broadcasts, which might be very useful for some industrial applications. In this paper, a new method for connecting live information to hypermedia using a simple pattern recognition is proposed. Links among models that recognize moving pictures are assumed to be dynamic links among scenes, pictures and other objects recognized. A prototype system has been developed on a workstation and applied to create various kinds of hypermedia, which revealed the effectiveness of this hypermedia platform
