Abstract
A new usage of SPICE simulation program, for the purpose of verifying the theory of the so-called edge-crowding effect of the emitter current in a bipolar transistor, is put forward. The conclusion is that the use of SPICE is successful, and the simulated distribution of base voltage and density of emitter current is coincident with that given by the theory
