Abstract :
DVB-H is an upcoming technology for service distribution on mobile and wireless handhelds. For a huge market success three main key feature are important such as the services provided, the costs involved and the stand-by time as a level of personal freedom. In this paper we investigate the power saving potentials for DVB-H services. By means of simulation we have shown that for different video sequences power saving potentials between 17% and 22% compared to the original transmission power can be achieved. The proposed mechanism is fully standard compliant
