  • Abstract
This article argues that need evolution has a moderate effect on technological evolution. Need is of evolution. We construct a conceptual model of the underlying factors´ structure of technological evolution in product development. Then we can carry on an empirical analysis on the mechanism of the underlying factors which influence technological evolution, and test the moderate effect of need evolution. Results show that the relationship between information and technical performance is significant, but knowledge´s direct effect is not significant, and the moderate effect of need evolution is significant.
