Abstract :
Traditional studies of knowledge transfer in the multinational corporations (MNCs) based on the developed countries hold that knowledge transfer is from the parent company to subsidiaries. In fact, in the knowledge transfer of MNCs, the importance of the parent and subsidiary changes relatively with the stages of overseas investment. The paper analyzes the stages according to the process of MNCs´ investment and development. Combined with the main factors influencing Chinese MNCs´ knowledge acquisition, the paper proposes to enhance all-round absorpative capacities, optimize the network organizational structure and establish overseas strategic alliances or mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
