Many of today´s most significant organizational challenges require the effective collaboration of collectives of various teams. Transactive memory is critical for team and system performance, operating at both the level of individual component teams and the wider multiteam systems. This field study analyses a case study based on some of the results of the Team-based European Automotive Manufacture project, including formation and development of TMSs in MTS and effects of transactive memory system at the MTS level, to examine the role of transactive memory in the performance of multi-team systems(MTS).
