Abstract :
The complex reflection phase gradient with respect to wavenumber is proposed as an efficient method for characterizing the acoustic response of shallow water seabottoms. It allows the prediction of sound propagation in the channel and may be deduced from the inversion of comparatively few acoustic pressure measurements made in the water column
