Abstract
3-D scene reconstruction and visualization has become a subject of research for many years because of its wide range of applications. Among various approaches, integral imaging is a promising way to realize 3-D natural scene reconstruction. Current researches in this area focus on the free view synthesis from the elemental images. In this paper, instead of generation of free views of 3-D natural scene, a method of computational reconstruction of 3-D object by calculating the position of each voxel is proposed. The reconstructed 3-D object is demonstrated to have high accuracy in shape as well as detailed texture information. In addition, it can also be converted into a standard virtual reality model under the principle of computer graphics.
