  • Abstract
An adaptive data-reuse (ADR) algorithm is proposed for an equalization based receiver in a direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) system. The proposed algorithm uses the available information in each receiving data period to perform multiple updating of the tap-weight vector. The number of iterations is dependent on the state of the equalizer. More iterations take place in the start-up period whereas fewer iterations are performed when the tap-weight vector is close to the optimum value. Simulation results show that the ADR based receiver converges much faster than a least-mean-square (LMS) based receiver when multiple-access interference (MAI) is strong
