Abstract :
Version control is the important functions of software configuration management, is responsible for all the elements in the configuration database automatically assigned version of the logo, and to ensure that version of the name of the uniqueness. This paper describes the definition of software configuration management, as well as the specific role of software development projects, pointed out that the introduction of baseline management in order to effectively control the version, and through graphics show the most common software project base line, and then focused on the version control study, through the graphics shows the versions evolution history and the components versions change process, studied the main elements of version control, including check in-check out control, branching and merging, history recording.
