Abstract :
The output microwave power of a chain of the low-voltage unidirectional coupled vircators have been numerically analyzed by means of 1D PIC simulation (see Fig. 1 which shows dependences of output microwave power on braking potentials for different coupling strengths). We have shown that the output microwave power demonstrates significant growth for certain values of control parameters of the chain of vircators (see Fig.2). As a consequence the efficiency of the system of coupled vircators is higher than the efficiency of single autonomous low-voltage vircators with the same parameters (beam current and braking potential). The obtained results of our numerical study are in good agreement with well-known experimental results (see Ref. 11).
