Abstract :
Summary form only given. The investigation of nonradiative decay processes such as internal conversion and intersystem crossing has been the subject of intensive research over many years. Of special interest is the influence of different normal modes on the rate of internal conversion. The capability of the CARS process to interrogate individual normal modes was utilized in this work for exploring the influence of nuclear dynamics on the process of internal conversion, by placing the CARS process in a pump-probe scheme, where it plays the role of a mode selective probe.
