Abstract :
Integrating different remote sensing data to obtain the geological information as much as possible for petroleum geological exploration is the main object of this research project. Radar images have very different characteristics from visible/infrared satellite remote sensing images in both physical properties and image mechanization. Data fusion technology is used to merge Landsat TM data and Radarsat SAR data, and several methods of image fusion and information extraction are tried to compare their results. The result images show that the different detail can be highlighted by different approach, and the method of image multiplication followed by PCA transform obtains good effects by analyzing carefully the each character if these two images. The integrated images give some new understand for the geological structure of the area and reveal some buried structures and faults through comprehensive geological interpretation
