Abstract :
LFB (line focus beam) acoustic microscope was applied to measure elastic constant distribution of heat resistance functionally gradient materials (FGM). Specimen consisted of several laminated layers, each of them was made from the mixture of stainless steel and partially stabilized zirconia by powder metallurgical method. At each local measurement point on cross section surface of the specimen, elastic constant distribution of FGM was measured to evaluate the microstructural and mechanical properties transition that is related to the fabricating process conditions of FGM
