Abstract :
The consequences of natural and man-made disasters are enormous, not only in the short term with injuries, loss of life, and damaged infrastructure but also in the long term with changes in social and economic conditions. Disaster Supply Chain Management is the process of planning and controlling the operations of the SC by coordinating the different parties involved in the process of fulfilling customer demand efficiently. Based on the traditional beer game model, with the consideration of constraint transportation capacity, the paper develops a beer game model under disaster supply chain. Within the supply chain, the manufacturers, distributors and carriers are considered as the partners in order to implement collaborative management. The result of computer simulation points out that under the same constraint of transportation capacity, the implementation collaborative management can actually reduce the total supply chain costs by nearly 50% than without collaborative management, including inventory costs and backlog costs. Besides, it can also improve the utilization rate of transportation capacity by a margin of nearly 20%.
