Abstract
In this paper are introduced the current solutions of antennas useful for application of Mobile Satellite Broadcasting (MSB). These types of antenna solutions are usually using onboard mobiles such as ships, vehicles (road and railway) and aircraft. In many respects these types of the antenna infrastructures currently available are designed to track the satellite, following both movements of mobiles and satellite orbital motions. Sometimes this is difficult and expensive to synchronize and have to be introduced in the understanding manner. The vehicular antennas for MSB are in fact directional antennas with high gain radiation and sophisticated tracking performances. The Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) and Non-GEO current and forthcoming MSB operators have conducted research on all network segments, including different types of antennas and their future development and improvements. The special types of MSB antenna related to the kind of transportation system, such as maritime, land, aeronautical are classified and discussed.
