Abstract :
In this work integer linear programming is used to design optimal finite word length decimation filter for a (GSM-DECT) multi-standard transceiver. The designed filter is compared to that designed by Remez Exchange algorithm, which is the most widely used algorithm for digital filters design. It is shown that the filter designed by integer programming achieves 6dB more attenuation without any area or power penalty, and hence can lead to relaxation of the specifications of other blocks in the system.
