Abstract :
This paper presents operating experience from different calciner solutions operating with high degrees of substitution for alternative fuels. Experience with fuels having very different combustion characteristics is presented. Data are presented for different emissions including CO and NOx. Two calciner solutions are considered in particular detail. A calciner solution including a disc reactor particularly suited for a wide range of alternative fuels with different characteristics is presented. In addition a calciner solution without a disc reactor capable of obtaining high substitution degrees with a refined alternative fuel quality is presented. In addition to operational results, challenges with design and installation are considered.
