Abstract :
This paper presents a multi-agent testing architecture (MATA) for monitoring and analyzing the performance of Web applications in J2EE environments. This architecture includes agents and sub agents that collaborate and communicate with each other to measure the use of resources of the application server, to collect and process the data, and to analyze the data and to generate performance reports. A load testing, monitoring and analyzing system (LTMA) has been developed using the MATA. Several experiments have been conducted to evaluate the performance of Web applications running on two middleware platforms that are Apache and WebSphere. Based on a capacity test, the experimental results prove that the MATA is reliable, flexible, extendible and reusable. The LTMA works correctly and produces expected results
