  • Abstract
    Presents an integrated environment, QNX-Nevoa, for the design of fuzzy logic based linguistic controllers. It is composed of a shell, built in a real time platform. A high level and easy-to-use graphical interface is provided to minimize the difficulties in the design of such controllers when applied to real plants. First, the shell structure is described. Its use is then presented by means of the user interface. A coupled tanks plant of the Industrial Process Control Laboratory of the Engineering Faculty at UFMG, which has been used for the experiments, is briefly described. This is a pilot scale industrial plant, that resembles in most aspects the features and drawbacks found in operational plants. A mathematical model of the plant has been developed and used to provide simulation results. Some examples of typical results on real plant control are also presented
