Abstract
An adaptive mean frequency estimator is proposed for color flow mapping applications. It can be fitted to the specific characteristics of a given Doppler signal to minimize the mean square error of mean frequency estimation. An adaptive criterion based on the characteristics of the clutter rejection filter of the Doppler system is developed. The performance of this estimator is compared to that of the usual correlation phase estimator on simulated Doppler signals
