Abstract :
Summary form only given. Execution cores of advanced superscalar microprocessors requires high performance datapath circuits with single-cycle latency and throughput. Innovative circuit design solutions are required to deliver such performance in the presence of increasing frequencies, reverse scaling of interconnects and increasing device leakage. In this tutorial, we review key circuit solutions used to design high-performance energy-efficient datapath circuits.
