Abstract :
In order to overcome the shortcomings of current personal data applications in querying and matching, we adopt Web Ontology Language (OWL) for a uniform data representation and construct a personal data ontology management architecture for various Web applications. The uniform description cannot only provide the efficiency for data exchange, but also provide the flexibility for data management. Both the data sharing and accurate information extraction can be easily achieved by using the personal data ontology. The architecture consists of query and match subsystem, ontology manager, and ontology repository. Initially, all applications interact with the query and match subsystem. Through the inference rules written in Semantic Web Rule Language (SWRL), the ontology manager is then invoked for all kinds of data operations. In addition to the description of each system component and their interactions, a specific application of job-looking match is also presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the architecture
