Abstract :
Pro/TOOLKIT and FamilyTable provided by Pro/ENGINEER and Visual C++6.0 are utilized to develop three-dimensional standard part library of riveting joint according to national riveting joint standards. Feature based modeling and FamilyTable are used to construct three-dimensional riveting joint part library. The interface between Pro/ENGINEER and MFC is developed using DLLs to establish a man-machine interface that accords with engineering personnelpsilas habit. This breaks through the limitation of Pro/TOOLKIT. According to the newest machinery design handbook, Microsoft Access databases of various rivets and rivet nuts are established, and the interface between Pro/ENGINEER and the Access databases is developed to call the data in the Access databases from Pro/ENGINEER. The library is intuitionistic and easy to use. Consequently, tediously repetitive work can be reduced, and product design efficiency and quality can be improved. The approach can also be applied to develop other more professional part libraries in special domains.
