An Analysis of Bohai Cross Sea Channel Construction Investment to Economic Contribution

The construction of Bohai cross sea channel is a comprehensive transport construction, mainly including railway, highway and waterway. Investments on the construction of transportation infrastructure have a great effect on the national economy of any country. Based on the input-output table in 2002, the paper applies the output multiplier, investment multiplier and employment multiplier and so on to predict quantitatively the contribution of the construction investment of Bohai cross sea channel to the national economy. This examination was done based on input-output method and industry correlation theory. The prediction result shows that the output multiplier is 2.5785, the investment multiplier is 1.2791, the employment multiplier is 750 and influence coefficient is 1.1468, which proves the influence of the construction of Bohai cross sea channel to other industries is higher than the average level and the construction provides its due contribution to the national economy.
