Abstract
Watermarking technology is very important for the security of information delivery in the network age. In this paper, the wavelet transform is used for watermark embedding and detection. Where to watermark and how much the embedding strength is, are all adjusted adaptively to the local image characteristics. The concepts of spread spectrum and fidelity are used here to improve the correlation result during watermark detection and the watermark can be detected without the original signal. The algorithm in this paper fits for many applications in the media delivery area since it is quite robust while retaining the image quality
