Title :
Impact of SAW technology on the system performance of high capacity digital microwave radio
fDate :

Abstract :
Advances in surface acoustic wave (SAW) technology has enabled the evolution of a new generation of high capacity digital microwave radio systems. Very low adjacent channel and intersymbol interference available only from SAW devices has directly impacted the level of modulation which may be practically achieved. This has led to the development of more spectrally efficient systems at higher baud rates than previously thought possible for digital radios. In this paper, the impact of SAW devices on systems performance of a 512 QAM radio is discussed and the benefits gained from using SAW technology are reviewed
