Analysis of China Meteorological Disasters Loss in Recent Years Based on Synthesis Index

In this paper, the integrated method is used to calculate the synthesis index of economic losses caused by meteorological disasters and the clustering is adopted to grade the meteorological disasters´ losses and also analyze the trend in recent 20 years, based on the data of national natural disasters and damages from 1989 to 2008. The results show that economic losses derived from meteorological disasters is higher in first decade while is distinct lower in the second. The mortality of meteorological disasters decreases significantly in recent 20 years, in which the year 1991, 1994, 1996 and 1998 is a higher mortality.
