Abstract
Wireless networks have attracted significant interest due to the ability to provide users with continuous communications services anywhere, anytime. Location management is one of the most key issues in the realization of wireless communications. In this paper, we present an overview of advances in location management for wireless networks. Furthermore, we evaluate the performance of existing location management schemes in aspects of the transparency, compatibility, and complexity
