Abstract :
In order to assess the potential of THz applications in imaging, sensing, ranging and communications, it is important to know the frequency dependent transmission of the atmosphere. Essentially, all of the attenuation of the atmosphere in the range from low frequencies up to 2 THz is caused by water vapor. Here we report the most accurate measurement of this attenuation to date.
