Abstract :
In this paper, traditional flow classifiers in an IP switch are introduced and factors affecting flow classification are analyzed. Then a fuzzy flow classifier is proposed. A parameter in the classifier can be varied in accordance with the number of flows arriving across the default path, available VC space in the IP switch and the variation of the available VC space. Our simulation results show that compared to the traditional X/Y classifier, the fuzzy flow classifier achieves a better performance
