  • Abstract
    The IP multimedia subsystem (IMS), as a platform enables PLMN operator to offer their subscribers many new multimedia services based on single infrastructure. However IMS solutions can succeed only when charging for these new services is supported in a flexible and efficient manner. In this paper a new method for multiple charging data records (CDR) processing in IMS network is proposed. After the processing, there is only one integrated CDR for both event and session based charging. The method can lessen the burden of transmission between the charging gateway function (CGF) and the billing domain (BD) while the new requirements for 3GPP system charging and accounting are satisfied.
