Abstract :
In this paper we present a comparative evaluation of haptic renderings for CFD data studied in virtual reality environments. We implemented haptics on both explicit (polygonal) and volumetric representations of isosurfaces. The haptic methods implemented go from attractive renderings, to volumic transfer functions as well as rigid contact methods. We lead several experiments to find the optimal haptic representations for CFD data analysis.
