Abstract :
Load flow analysis is the primary tool for assessing the operation of system in steady state. It is important for planning future expansion of power system as well as determining best operation of existing system. Nowadays Distribution generation involves the interconnection of small scale distributed energy resources with main power utility at distribution voltage level. Distribution mainly constitutes non-conventional and renewable energy sources like wind and solar. Environmental considerations, prospects of exhaustion of traditional energy sources and increasing prices in the generation of electric power have provoked in recent years considerable interest in the production of electrical energy from renewable resources. Prominent among these sources is the wind. In this work, two models are used namely PQ model and RX model for modeling the wind farms with asynchronous generator. The above models are used in the load flow studies and their impact in power system is analyzed.
