Abstract :
The simulation of a 20 kW VFCF converter for aircraft applications has been investigated using the SABER simulation tool. The results are compared with the international standard and are very encouraging. Experimental results have shown the THD spec requirements for the input and output stages were met. Furthermore the system responds well under transient conditions. From the input waveform it can be seen that there are high frequency pulses injected back from the VFCFC to the supply. These could be readily removed by connecting a high frequency filter to the input side.
