Abstract :
In optical packet backbone a lot faster than 1 Tbps, there are many parallel optical fibers laid between optical network nodes. With the parallel fibers, contention resolution in spatial domain is possible, which is a kind of deflection routing without deflection. Combining time domain contention resolution with a fiber delay line further reduce packet drop probability.
