Abstract :
This paper reports an experimental study to understand nanostructuring process in femtosecond laser ablation of diamond-like carbon film. We found that the structure starts to be formed on the submicrometer stripes patterned on the surface, demonstrating that the nanometer-scale ablation is induced with local fields generated on the surface.
