Abstract
P2P has been widely used to provide video streaming service over the Internet. However, due to the asymmetric bandwidth problem faced by many peers, the uplink bandwidth at individual peers cannot be fully utilized. In this paper, we propose Coop-Stream, a distributed video streaming service that takes advantage of multiple cooperative peers. In Coop-Stream, a set of users/peers collaboratively provide video streaming service to the requesting users, even if individual users/peers´ upload bandwidth may not be sufficient to stream the entire video. Minimum-Weight-Perfect-Matching (MWPM) based workload allocation scheme further maximized the perceived video quality at the requesting user/peer.
