Title :
RADIX-a solution to multiple sensor data fusion
Author :
Judge, Ian ; Withey, Kevin
Abstract :
This paper gives an overview of the functional and interface characteristics of RADIX, which is an independent sub-system for fusion of sensor data that can be adapted for various platforms and, applications. It has been used in a surface based maritime application and a maritime patrol aircraft. RADIX provides an automated process to compile a tactical picture of data from various sensors. The data can consist of airborne, land-based, surface and sub-surface water contacts, from reports and from operators. The functions of RADIX are discussed. RADIX is composed of two sub-units: the DFM (data fusion module) and the DBM (database manager).
